Prevention is the Best Cure

Our bodies have the innate ability to heal. This premise is the foundation for naturopathic medicine. Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are trained in modern medical science as well as traditional healing methods and use both approaches during assessment and formulating individual treatment plans. Patients are partners in their healing process. As naturopaths work with individuals to identify and remove causes of discomfort or disease, the whole person-body, mind and spirit is taken into consideration. Since a primary objective is to help prevent disease and empower patients to have control over their good health, NDs often spend considerable time teaching patients about issues such as lifestyle choices, nutrition, exercise, stress.  When our bodies are given what they need and obstacles separating us from optimal health are removed, our bodies naturally will move towards a healthy balanced state.
